Indian-American composer and two-time Grammy winner Ricky Kej has once again been nominated for the prestigious Grammys, which will be held early next year. Ricky Kej has been nominated in the Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album category for his album Break of Dawn.
However, Kej is not the only Indian-origin or Indian composer to have been nominated for the Grammys. At least four other Indian artistes are competing for the coveted trophy, including, Anoushka Shankar, Varijashree Venugopal, Radhika Vekaria, and Chandrika Tandon.
Ricky Kej won his first Grammy in 2015 for Winds of Samsara with Wouter Kellerman. He won his second Grammy for his album Divine Tides, wherein he had collaborated with the artiste Stewart Copeland.
The nominations for the 67th Grammys were announced on Friday night (IST), in which Beyoncé is leading the pack with a historic 11 nods.
